How to download videos in WeChat articles

WeChat public-account articles often embed video, but there's no built-in download. The Meowload browser extension detects videos in articles and saves them locally in one click.

Install the Meowload browser extension

If you haven't installed it yet, head to the browser store:

Download a video from a WeChat article

1. Open the WeChat article link in your browser, e.g. https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/v0OiILpavyPe4PDHaqf_KQ
2. Once the page loads, Meowload auto-detects the videos in the article. When the extension icon lights up, downloadable content has been found.
3. Click the Meowload icon. The popup lists the detected videos — pick one and download. When it's done, click the folder icon to view it.
